Esports Spotlight: The Happy Campers Esports Team - The Beginnings

One of the best parts of our Affiliate Program is getting to meet new players, teams, fans, and be introduced to so many different communities. The Happy Campers (THC) team and ownership have been so welcoming to Inked and we thought it would be a great idea to get to know the team a little better! Over the next few months, THC will be giving us a history of the team, what games they are involved in, some of their tournament experiences, and much more!

Without further ado, let's welcome in the representatives of THC with their first blog post - the beginnings of The Happy Campers! 

The beginning for The Happy Campers:

"It all started when I was out on a camping trip and someone mentioned that we were some “happy campers.” With being a part of the competitive scene of PUBG, it immediately dawned on me that “The Happy Campers” would be a phenomenal team name. So, after the weekend was over I reached out to one of my closest friends on PUBG, Atom, and brought up the idea of starting a team together. He was all about it, and we started recruiting the next day. After a while, we had a solid PUBG team ready to compete and grind our way to the pro leagues. There were a lot of failures and a lot of successes, and with the successes came a lot of offers from Esports organizations. Each contract that was sent our way, was forwarded to one of my old law school professors, which was always met with the same reply, “Do not sign this, it is not in your best interest whatsoever.”
After the continuous headache and rollercoaster of thinking that we finally made it, only to find out that the Esports scene was more cutthroat than we anticipated, we decided that we could do better. This led to the beginning of The Happy Campers as a professional gaming organization. We planned to be an org that was started by professional gamers, for professional gamers. Now whether the term “professional gamer” meant people competing in the Esports scene, or just streamers casually gaming in front of their audience, we wanted to create a space for videogame lovers to hangout and share their passions.
With the help of close friends like, Bobb, Scarlet Heathers, and everyone else that contributed along the way, The Happy Campers’ teams have been able to reach the top leagues in several gaming titles such as PUBG, Apex Legends, Fortnite, and Hearthstone. In addition to that we have partnered with many amazing content creators and streamers. We want to thank everyone that is a part of THC, our partners like Inked Gaming, and everyone that has helped us grow into where we are today. Overall, The Happy Campers as an organization is still in its infancy, but the future looks extremely bright and I couldn’t be happier with how it is going."
