Fallout, Final Fantasy, and Assassin's Creed crossovers are coming to Magic: The Gathering!
The worlds of Fallout, Final Fantasy, and Assassin’s Creed are about to collide with the iconic card game we all know and love – Magic: The Gathering. If you thought the MTG multiverse couldn't get any more exciting, think again, because it's about to get a whole lot crazier!
MTG has released a host of awesome crossover sets recently, with Lord of Rings: Tales of Middle Earth (from Universes Beyond) being among the biggest and most adored by fans. According to some recent announcements/updates released over the past couple of weeks, Wizards of the Coast is keeping the momentum going with some more awesome crossovers that are coming in 2024 and beyond!
Fallout: Wasteland Wonders Unleashed!
Hold onto your spellbooks and power armor, because the post-apocalyptic universe of Fallout is making its way to Magic: The Gathering. In March 2024, players will witness the launch of a set of Commander Decks that dive headfirst into the wasteland factions we've come to love and fear. Whether you're a fan of the technological prowess of the Brotherhood of Steel or the enigmatic might of the Enclave, these decks are primed to transport you to a world where elements from both sides present themselves in new and intriguing ways!
Assassin’s Creed: Stealth and Sorcery Collide!
For those who crave historical intrigue and action-packed adventures, the news couldn't be more exciting. Assassin’s Creed is poised to weave its rich tapestry of heroes and historical settings into the fabric of Magic: The Gathering. This set is expected to have a collection of cards and reprints with some amazing art. They will also have some rather unique mechanics, which can create a more engaging and ‘assassin's authentic’ experience for gamers.
With so many awesome characters, combat moves, and titles in this series, MTG has the chance to make this set extra special for all those who have worn the hood and used a hidden blade. MTG’s Assassin's Creed crossover set is scheduled to launch in July 2024.
From Crystals to Cards: Final Fantasy Enters the Fray!
Prepare to be transported across realms, as Magic: The Gathering embraces the beloved universe of Final Fantasy in 2025. The set promises to span the entirety of the franchise, from its humble beginning in the 1980s to the sweeping landscapes of Final Fantasy 16. Whether you're a fan of classic pixelated battles or stunning modern graphics, this collaboration is bound to cast a spell of nostalgia and excitement. No official date or month has been revealed yet, but 2025 is the target year for this crossover to get in gear.
It’s also worth noting that out of all three of these upcoming crossovers, Final Fantasy is the only one that will be available for digital play via Wizards’ online MTG, Magic: The Gathering Arena platform. So, we have that to look forward to as well!
As we begin to enter the last few months left in 2023, it’s good to know that we have some pretty sweet crossovers to look forward to in 2024. Since all three official launches are so far out, the details are still being left to the imagination. But, if any of these are even close to the standard of Lord of the Rings, or some other crossover in the Universes Beyond series, then MTG is slated to have a very successful next couple of years. That goes for the fans as well.
We will closely follow this story and these crossovers as they develop and let you know when any major updates are revealed. In the meantime, feel free to check out MTG’s site for the latest info, or stick around and have a peek through our collection before you bounce!
