Shipping Struggles On The Horizon This Holiday Season
With the holiday season quickly approaching, we thought we should take this opportunity to keep you informed and up to date on what to expect as far shipping is concerned this fall/winter season. Obviously, November and December are always the busiest months of the year for shipping companies, but now that a worldwide pandemic has been added to the mix, we can only expect things to get a little more complicated (like the rest of 2020 so far).
But we don’t want to focus too much on COVID in this post. After all, you’ve probably heard all the slogans and messages by now. Instead, we’d like to give you some more helpful shipping info and tips before the holidays kick into high gear. And if 2020 keeps moving as fast as we think it is, November and December will be here in a blink. That’s why we’re sending out this info now!
Let us start by saying that the USPS is expecting more shipped packages this year/holiday season than ever. And with that will come MAJOR delays. As we mentioned before, the holidays are always busy when it comes to shipping. But now that there are fewer shoppers getting their goods/gifts from physical stores, shipping companies will inevitably see a drastic rise in the number of items being shipped this year.
With a greater amount of goods being shipped, all the major shipping companies are going to be stretched pretty thin, to the point that we’re predicting up to 10-day delays on shipments come November and December.
So, what does this mean for you, our loyal Inked Gaming customer? Well, if we could suddenly develop the power of teleportation (fingers still crossed) then we would have your gifts and gear delivered to you super-quick, without so much as a fuss. However, we have yet to be endowed with such a useful power. So, for now, all we can do is give you a helpful pointer here and there for avoiding such a long delay between ordering and delivery.
If you wish to get ahead of this curve and compensate for the dreaded 10+-day delays this holiday season, we strongly recommend that you place your online orders at least 10 days sooner than you normally would. Ordering this far in advance will help ensure that your goods get to you (or that special someone) sooner rather than way later. Even though we offer faster shipping/delivery options for a higher rate, we still don’t recommend procrastinating, especially this year.
Of course, you can always read through our shipping policy and USPS delays announcement for more info/details on how we go about shipping our goods, as well as the effects that COVID has had (and will have) on shipping across the country.
As always, stay safe and keep your head up as we navigate through complicated times as one!
Sincerely,
Team Inked
