Artists: Kim Testone

Kim Testone (www.kimtestone.com) is a photorealist still life painter working in acrylic paint. Her super-detailed paintings of desserts, toys and other fun subjects are created by patiently painting dozens and dozens of thin, overlapping layers of acrylic on panel, using very tiny brushes. She is a former art magazine editor and theme park caricature artist, as well as a self-professed nerd who enjoys comic books, games, vintage toys and 80s cartoons. Kim holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Drawing from the University of Central Florida, and a Master’s Degree in Arts Administration from Savannah College of Art and Design. Her original paintings are available through Hidell Brooks Gallery (www.hidellbrooks.com) in Charlotte, North Carolina.
