With over 30 awards, a plethora of published illustrations, Grand Master status, and an induction into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame, it’s fair to say that Michael Whalen has made his mark in the sci-fi art universe! Out of all of these distinguished accomplishments and achievements, we would like to add one more stat to his extensive resume: Michael Whelan is now a member of the Inked Gaming artist community as well! That’s right! Even with his well-deserved legendary status, Michael has chosen to become a part of our growing network of gifted designers, and we are absolutely ecstatic!

It’s not every day that an artist who has collaborated with some of the biggest names (Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, Rod Serling, H.G. Wells, Steven Spielberg, and many more) chooses to join your network. So, when the opportunity presented itself, we were immediately on cloud 9. The prospect of having such an accomplished artist and visionary in our Rolodex has always been a hope, but never much of a reality...until now!

So, instead of book covers and canvases, Michael has been bringing his award-winning imagination to life on several key pieces of gear, such as playmats, mousepads, dice bags, game crates and more. In fact, he has already let his presence be known with quite a few amazing designs, which are presently featured on our site. We feel that this is just the beginning of what we hope will be a fantastic friendship for years to come!
