Hex Galaxy Wargaming Mat

I agree with the other customers that to make this product exceptional the hexes need to be printed just a millimeter or two larger. Right now the hexes from the Twilight Imperium box are a little larger than the hexes on the mat. as you build the game board from the center you find that the tiles are each further and further from the center of the hexagons you are trying to place them on. In other words by being a mm or two too small is magnified by multiple tile placement until they are off at the edges of the games galaxy by about a cm. If the company fixes this problem to have perfect sized hexes, I would consider buying and updated mat.

The play mat was shipped well protected.This was a very nice touch. It is a hex map for the game Twilight Imperium 4th Edition and while it's design is well executed with great printing and fabric, the hexes themselves are just a smidge to small for the standard hex tiles that come with the game. A very slight adjustment to the individual hex sizes is needed to be perfect. Overall I'm satisfied with the purchase however if the printed hexes were the correct size, it would be exceptional.

I had a lot of trouble with my order due to shipping error (of my own oversight), however the team at Inked gaming helped me out every step of the way until the problem was handled. The mat is of fine quality as well. All in all very satisfied.

I bagged the new TI4 expansion for Christmas and knew I needed a new game mat to accommodate the eight player expansion. This thing is gorgeous, shockingly so for the reasonable price. Great transaction.

The mat is great, I like the overall quality. It keeps my pieces from moving around, which is probably the biggest feature I needed. Unfortunately it drives my OCD a bit crazy that the hexes are smaller than the TI4 tiles by just a hair. It's not horrid in the standard map (still bugs me but I can deal), but it's gonna drive me nuts if I ever get a 4 ring game together. Would still recommend, just be aware that if you're looking for something where the hexes match just right, this mat isn't quite it.

Playing TI on this mat was so good. The tiles weren't moving around the table when my decidedly heavy handed friends decided to roll my poor Winnu when I captured Mecatol right off the bat. It's ok. I forgive them. The mat itself feels like high quality fabric on top of a rubber backing. The colors are vibrant and crisp. The hexes on the mat I received were a tiny bit smaller than the tiles, but that wasn't a big deal. That is just a side effect of (what I assume is) dye-sublimation. Just having the player locations marked and not needing to guesstimate made it worth every penny. I made the mistake of ordering the 6 player mat when I really wanted the 8 player mat but Sherpa_Jim was able to fix it for me before the mat even shipped. three big thumbs up for that guy. The only thing that really bothered me about this mat was that I didn't invest in it sooner (We've been playing TI3 for ages now). If you're a serious TI player, you need this mat in your life.

Good quality as always from inkedgaming. I wish i didn't have to pay import fees from all my purchases there though. There is no other company that I buy from in the US that has import fees tagged on when it is delivered.

It's big and it keeps things organized. The hexes are a tad smaller than the game pieces (about a millimeter or so), unlike the official (and out of print) game mat that has the hexes bigger than the game pieces. I don't know if it's just mine got printed just slightly off or something. Better than the SCPT game mat for sure though!

Bought this mat for my group's semi-monthly Twilight Imperium game, and it is perfect. Keeps everything in place and takes the guesswork out of setup regarding where starting locations go. Highly recommend for TI gamers.

I couldn’t buy the official one so had to go with Inked. No regrets, the Mat is high quality and really does the trick as good as (of not better than) the official mat. It’s just a shame that my friends will never play TI:4 with me again after our last game got a little heated... Great May though!
